Youth and Children’s Minister

Job Overview:

Immanuel Baptist Church is seeking a Youth and Children’s Minister to join our team. This individual will be responsible for leading and nurturing the spiritual growth of our children and teenagers, providing them with a strong biblical foundation and guiding them toward a growing relationship with Christ. This individual will collaborate with the Senior Pastor and church leadership to develop and implement programs and activities that engage children and their families, helping us reach the next generation for Jesus.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Teach and mentor children and teens, providing biblical instruction and fostering spiritual development through age-appropriate sermons, lessons, and Bible studies.

·       Organize and lead services, retreats, mission projects, and special events for youth and children.

·       Design and implement comprehensive youth and children’s programs that engage outsiders and foster discipleship for those within the church.

·       Plan and oversee weekly group meetings, Sunday school classes, and other regular activities.

·       Provide pastoral care and counseling to youth and their families as needed.

·       Encourage and equip parents to take an active role in the spiritual development of their children.

·       Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers and youth leaders.

·       Manage the budget for children and youth programs and events.

·       Work closely with the Senior Pastor and other ministry leaders to integrate youth programs with the overall mission and vision of the church.

Qualifications:

·       A strong personal walk with Jesus Christ and a commitment to Southern Baptist doctrine.

·       Either holds or is pursuing a degree in theology, ministry, or a related field

·       Previous experience in youth ministry, children’s ministry or a related field is preferred.

·       Excellent communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills.

·       Ability to connect with and relate to children and teenagers.

·       Strong organizational and leadership abilities.

·       A heart for mentoring and discipling the next generation.
